Today\u2019s guest deejay is Garek Druss<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

I met Garek through Mkl Anderson, AKA Drekka<\/a>, when I asked Mike who he thought would share a mix on Soundwave (listen to Mkl\u2019s mix here<\/a>). I trust Mkl without question, but I heard<\/a> some of Garek\u2019s work, and I instantly won over. So, of course, I extended an invasion to Garek, and I was not disappointed.<\/p>\n\n

Garek describes himself as a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores the balance and sometimes friction between the physical being and the incorporeal. That sounds about right.<\/p>\n\n

Garek\u2019s got quite the mix for us. I\u2019ll admit, I\u2019m unfamiliar with most of the artists he featured, which is one of the delights of hosting Soundwave. He took me on a journey of lulling sounds, gentle crackles and hisses, and quiet chords. When his mix was over, it felt like I had woken from a half-remembered dream.<\/p>\n\n
