Today\u2019s guest deejay is Philippe Neau<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

The kind folks at Igloo Magazine<\/a> introduced me to Philippe when they reviewed his 2022 album, A Quiet Place<\/a><\/em>. Philippe explores tranquil environments, blending bird sounds and water with electronics to create meditative soundscapes. Simple and captivating. I was so enchanted that I invited Philippe to share a mix with us.<\/p>\n\n

Some of the themes in Philippe\u2019s mix revolve around rebellion, introspection, darkness, electronic experimentation, and sonic exploration. There is an emphasis on societal and personal struggles, expressed through the Beastie Boys\u2019 cheeky anthem of defiance, \u201c(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party),\u201d and the politically charged \u201cCan\u2019t Truss It\u201d by Public Enemy. David Lynch\u2019s \u201cNoah\u2019s Ark\u201d and Scorn\u2019s \u201cSlumber:\u201d delve into introspective and atmospheric territories, while Painkiller\u2019s \u201cTrailmarker\u201d and the DJ Spooky\u2019s \u201c12 Nihilismus Dub\u201d offer a glimpse into the experimental and industrial aspects of the mix. The presence of artists like Rockers Hi-Fi brings electronic elements and dub-inspired sounds, adding depth and dimension to the overall sonic landscape. Additionally, Philippe\u2019s mix includes tracks by Robert Rich and B. Lustmord, \u00d8, and :zoviet*france:, which explore the ambient and textural side, creating a sense of mystery and darkness. I love all these songs, and you will, too.<\/p>\n\n

in recent years in the workshop, the car, the house, the garden \u2026<\/p>\n\n

Far from being an inventory, I tried to create a sound \/ sonic walk,<\/p>\n\n

a contemplative drift with these tracks that resonate in me,<\/p>\n\n

in my head on a background of birdsong<\/p>\n\n

recorded in the garden, hence the title crows<\/p>\n\n

parfois juste des voix, des sonorit\u00e9s qui ont jalonn\u00e9s, marqu\u00e9s <\/p>\n\n

ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es dans l\u2019atelier, la voiture, la maison, le jardin \u2026 <\/p>\n\n

Loin d\u2019\u00eatre un inventaire, j\u2019ai essay\u00e9 de cr\u00e9er une promenade sonore \/ sonique, <\/p>\n\n

une d\u00e9rive contemplative avec ces tracks qui r\u00e9sonnent en moi, <\/p>\n\n

dans ma t\u00eate sur fond de chants d\u2019oiseaux <\/p>\n\n
