Today\u2019s guest deejay is James Vella<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

We have Robert Farrugia<\/a> from Complex Holiday<\/a> to thank for James\u2019s mix. I asked Robert who he knew who he thought would share a mix on Soundwave, and he recommended James. Oh, listen to Robert\u2019s mix for Soundwave here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

Robert had not steered me wrong. James runs Phantom Limb<\/a>, a record label, a music publishing, and touring and label management company. I dipped into his roster of artists, which ranges from everything from experimental hip hop<\/a> to music inspired by Pre-Columbian Central and South American myths and folktales<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

James\u2019s mix explores a lot of terrain and includes a song he recorded under the name A Lily<\/a> that\u2019s beautiful. There\u2019s also a track in James\u2019s mix that is almost too painful to listen to. You\u2019ll know when you hear it.<\/p>\n\n
