Today\u2019s guest deejay is Nick Turner, AKA Tyresta<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

We have K\u00e9vin S\u00e9ry to thank for introducing me to Nick. After K\u00e9vin\u2019s mix for Soundwave I asked who he thought would share a mix on show he said I should contact Nick. I did what I aways do, which is dip into Bandcamp and Spotify to listen to get a feel for the artist\u2019s music. After an afternoon spend listening to his releases as Tyresta, I understood why K\u00e9vin thought Nick should I have guest deejay on the show.<\/p>\n\n

Nick\u2019s mix has been my soundtrack for the events unfolding in Ukraine. Some of the songs Nick selected in his mix seem prescient and apocalyptic. But Nick\u2019s mix takes unexpected turns and is, thankfully, at times joyful and triumphant. At least that\u2019s what I got out of it.<\/p>\n\n

Nick is a social worker and experimental musician based in Chicago, Illinois.\u00a0 He releases music as Tyresta, Tyresta and Ruan<\/a>, Montgomery and Turner<\/a> (with Jayve Montgomery\/Abstract Black<\/a>), and Color of Time<\/a> (with K\u00e9vin S\u00e9ry\/From Overseas<\/a>).\u00a0He also runs the digital-only, experimental music imprint Fallen Moon Recordings<\/a>, which is a sub-label of Past Inside the Present<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n
