It feels strange to write that, but it\u2019s true.<\/p>\n\n<p>I discovered Alex on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/artist\/51537-Cypher-7\" title=\"Cypher 7\">Cypher 7<\/a> album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/master\/197798-Cypher-7-Decoder\" title=\"Decoder\">Decoder<\/a><\/em> that he recorded with <a href=\"https:\/\/bovaland.com\" title=\"Jeff Bova\">Jeff Bova<\/a>. <em>Decoder<\/em> came in all all-back CD jewel case. Very mysterious and very sexy. <em>Decoder<\/em> was released on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/label\/1089-Strata\" title=\"Strata\">Strata<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bill_Laswell\" title=\"Bill Laswel\">Bill Laswell<\/a>\u2019s sub-label of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Subharmonic_(record_label)\" title=\"Subharmonic Records\">Subharmonic Records<\/a>, and that was all I needed to know in my decision-making process to purchase the album. I was not disappointed. <em>Decoder<\/em> was as mysterious and sexy as its CD case. The music was minimal, sinuous, and entrancing.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/josephaleo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Image.jpg?w=525\" alt=\"Alex Haas\" class=\"wp-image-3255\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption>Alex Haas<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been listening to Alex\u2019s music over the decades. When his album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/alexhaas.bandcamp.com\/track\/the-woods\" title=\"The Woods\">The Woods<\/a><\/em>, recorded with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.banabila.com\" title=\"Michel Banabila\">Michel Banabila<\/a> and Bill Laswell, popped up on my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, I immediately invited Alex to guest deejay on Soundwave.<\/p>\n\n<p>Alex\u2019s mix is exactly what I expected and delights with music from unexpected sources.
