But sometimes, I forget to capture that information, and in this case, I don\u2019t recall how I met Sebastian and Daniel. If I had to guess, I believe I <a href=\"https:\/\/ceeys.bandcamp.com\" title=\"Bandcamp: CEEYS\">discovered them<\/a> while perusing <a href=\"https:\/\/bandcamp.com\" title=\"Bandcamp\">Bandcamp<\/a> for new music.<\/p>\n\n<p>CEEYS\u2019s albums explore and combine experimental, minimalist, avant-garde, pop, jazz, ambient, and classical chamber music. I love all that stuff, and Sebastian and Daniel distill all those forms of music into a heady listening experience, something you can lose yourself in. I\u2019ve had <a href=\"https:\/\/ceeys.bandcamp.com\/track\/yes-brick-by-brick-2\" title=\"Yes, Brick By Brik\">\u201cYes, Brick By Brick\u201d<\/a> on repeat for few hours, for example.<\/p>\n\n<p>Their mix for today\u2019s show was a surprise. I trusted they would craft a mix worth hearing, and while it captures their musical sensibilities, it also subverted my expectations. And the mix is dense. In the space of 40+ minutes, you\u2019re going to hear music from 28 different artists.<\/p>\n\n<p>Sebastian and Daniel have some words about their mix below.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/josephaleo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/5E05CD0F-E6D9-40DA-A02F-3436AA464ABD.jpeg?w=525\" alt=\"Paleowolfs Cenozoic alnum\" class=\"wp-image-3255\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption>Paleowolf\u2019s <em>Cenozoic<\/em> album<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>Before I wrap things up, I want to mention that <a href=\"https:\/\/paleowolf.bandcamp.com\" title=\"Paleowolf\">Paleowolf<\/a> has released a new album, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/paleowolf.bandcamp.com\/album\/cenozoic\" title=\"Cenozoic\">Cenozoic<\/a><\/em>. Paleowolf continues to create music inspired by totems of prehistoric animals and describes <em>Cenozoic<\/em> as the spiritual successor to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/paleowolf.bandcamp.com\/album\/megafauna-rituals\" title=\"Megafauna Rituals\">Megafauna Rituals<\/a><\/em>. It\u2019s impressive how much material Paleowolf has churned up within his self-created genre. Listen to the Soundwave Paleomix <a href=\"http:\/\/josephaleo.com\/blog\/soundwave-33-paleowolf\/\" title=\"SOUNDWAVE : 33 : PALEOWOLF\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Joins us next week when our guest deejay will be <a href=\"https:\/\/roelfuncken.bandcamp.com\" title=\"Roel Funcken\">Roel Funcken<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>See you then!<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/josephaleo.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/3F9AD6A2-BEF7-4794-B66F-D8CB4477AF2E.jpeg?w=525\" alt=\"Brueder Selke (CEEYS)\" class=\"wp-image-3255\" loading=\"lazy\"><figcaption>Brueder Selke (CEEYS)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>For us, two brothers coming from beyond the Iron Curtain, the Wall, with a strikingly serene sense of modesty and humility, rooted in the daily improvisation to manage and resolve shortcomings during Communist-era GDR times and the later reunion of Germany, the most intrinsic part of being a musician is the encounter with like-minded friends and fellows.<\/p>\n\n<p>Collaboration has become an essential element of our musical approach manifesting itself in the 2020 EP, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/thesisproject.bandcamp.com\/album\/thesis-17-ceeys-constant-presence\" title=\"THESIS 17\">THESIS 17<\/a><\/em>, alongside CONSTANT PRESENCE, the project between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peterbroderick.net\" title=\"Peter Broderick\">Peter Broderick<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/dosullivan.bandcamp.com\" title=\"Daniel O\u2019Sullivan\">Daniel O\u2019Sullivan<\/a>, on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gregoryeuclide.com\" title=\"Gregory Euclide\">Gregory Euclide<\/a>\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thesisproject.us\" title=\"Thesis Project\">Thesis Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>In fact, it was musicians like these and collaborations with others like <a href=\"https:\/\/olafurarnalds.com\" title=\"\u00d3lafur Arnalds\">\u00d3lafur Arnalds<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/masayoshifujita.com\" title=\"Masayoshi Fujita\">Masayoshi Fujita<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/carloscipa.de\" title=\"Carlos Cipa\">Carlos Cipa<\/a> , and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.martynheyne.com\" title=\"Martyn Heyne\">Martyn Heyne<\/a> (who mixed and mastered almost the entire CEEYS catalogue) that inspired us to found <a href=\"https:\/\/q3ambientfest.com\" title=\"Q3AMBIENTFEST\">Q3AMBIENTFEST<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The aim of this handpicked list of talent is to blend established and emerging artists from diverse genres and origins.
