Today\u2019s guest deejay is Sasha, AKA, protoU<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few months ago Dronny Darko<\/a> came on the show with a killer mix<\/a>. As usually, I asked Dronny who he knew personally who would be interested in sharing a mix of their own for SOUNDWAVE and Dronny recommended protoU. It\u2019s a dark and mysterious that\u2019s both ethereal and earthy. Sasha\u2019s mix resonates with me because it is reminiscent of the first two albums that introduced me to ambient music, Brian Eno<\/a>\u2019s Ambient 4: On Land<\/a><\/em> and Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks<\/a><\/em>. Sasha\u2019s mix also include\u2019s Hivetribe<\/a>\u2019s \u201cUthernno\u201d, which features one of my favorite recording of a 1950s housewife trying to describe a LSD experience<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

You will not<\/em> be disappointed with Sasha\u2019s mix. I\u2019ve had her mix on repeat for weeks and I still find something new in it.<\/p>\n\n

In other news, this tiny show dedicated to niche genres of music that I launched to help cope with the stress of COVID-19 is growing ever so slightly, which is gratifying.<\/p>\n\n

I don\u2019t do much to promote SOUNDWAVE because it\u2019s not that kind of show. It really is a form of therapy and I\u2019m touched by every guest deejay\u2019s generosity. I\u2019m also moved that you, dear listener, take time out of your no doubt busy week to experience the mixes offered on this show. Maybe it\u2019s time to share this show with more people.
