Today on solipsistc NATION<\/b> our guest is Saltillo\u2019s Menton J. Matthews III<\/a>. He\u2019s just released Monocyte<\/a><\/i>, Saltillo\u2019s long awaited second album. Saltillo\u2019s Monocyte<\/i> is both an album and a comic book. The comic book was released by IDW<\/a> and the album was released by Artoffact Records<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jacek Kozlowski is the founder of Artoffact Records and his label was featured on solipsistc NATION<\/b>\u2018s label showcase<\/a> back in January. Jacek prepared a great mix<\/a> with select tracks from his label and introduced me to Saltillo with two tracks that were gorgeous and mysterious and very, very dark.<\/p>\n

Ganglion<\/a><\/i> is Saltillo\u2019s first album but I\u2019d be hard pressed to say if one was better than the other. Their both beautiful and while Ganglion<\/i> is more restrained it no less powerful than Monocyte<\/i>. And Monocyte<\/i> is very powerful\u2014cinematic in scope chock full of cryptic dialogue, sound effects and the music, the beautiful and haunting music.<\/p>\n

Menton J. Matthews III is one half of Saltillo and he joins us from his studio in Chicago to talk about both his new album and the comic book.<\/p>\n
