If you\u2019re going to this year\u2019s Mutek Festival<\/a> in Montreal I\u2019m envious. Sadly, I won\u2019t be going but I\u2019ve decided to bring the Mutek Festival to me by having Mutek\u2019s founder, Alain Mongeau<\/a>, chat with us about this year\u2019s festival.<\/p>\n

Mutek is an annual five-day event in Montreal which kicks of this year June 1st.<\/p>\n

Each year, more than 100 artists, panelists, and industry professionals participate in what has become a leading event of its kind in North America. MUTEK also hosts numerous international versions of its festival in locations often under-represented in such places like Mexico City, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Colombia.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s show is a bit of a hodgepodge mix of acts I\u2019d like to see at this year\u2019s Mutek Festival. Amon Tobin<\/a> has been on solipsistic NATION<\/b> a couple times and his live set<\/a> is actually the fist edition of solipsistic NATION<\/b> to break 10,000 downloads but I\u2019ve never actually seen<\/i> Amon rock a show. I finally saw Badawi<\/a> on Meat Beat Manifesto<\/a>\u2018s Autoimmune<\/a><\/i> tour and if I was going to this year\u2019s Mutek Festival I\u2019d definitely see Badawi again. I\u2019ve also been a fan of Four Tet<\/a> for years so I\u2019d love to catch their show. And Plastikman<\/a>? Are you kidding me? That guy\u2019s been a part of the electronic music scene for what seem like forever. He\u2019s an institution in the techno world. And that\u2019s just some<\/i> of the acts I wish I could see at this years Mutek Festival, let alone all the other other artists that are completely new to me.<\/p>\n
