When I was putting together this week\u2019s edition of solipsistic NATION<\/b> I realized I had over two hours worth of music. What to do? I could either pare down the mix to an hour or break the mix into two separate shows. I decided to go with the latter option.<\/p>\n
Originally the mix began with a selection of music that would make your ears bleed and slowly become more and more darkly atmospheric. So let\u2019s talk about the first part.<\/p>\n
We begin with Hindu Pez<\/a>\u2018s \u201cThe Blackest Sky\u201d from his forthcoming abUSE<\/i> EP that will be released Friday, November 13th. Hindu Pez was kind enough to send me an advance copy and \u201cThe Blackest Sky\u201d set the tone for the rest of today\u2019s show.<\/p>\n Speaking of Hindu Pez, this is the perfect opportunity for me to talk about how some editions of solipsistic NATION<\/b> come together. I\u2019m constantly reviewing tracks to play on future shows and some tracks I play immediately and some sit on my hard drive for weeks, months or, sometimes, years before they make it on to the show. I\u2019d love to play all new music that comes my way but my priority is to present you cohesive mixes of great music. If I can work in new music so much the better but it doesn\u2019t always work out that way.<\/p>\n Moving on, we\u2019ve also got some music from The Teknoist<\/a>, Enduser<\/a>, Abelcain<\/a> and Ad\u00b7ver\u00b7sary<\/a>, all of whom have appeared on solipsistic NATION<\/b> before. And for good reason: they all craft mind blowing music.<\/p>\n Another artist that is new to solipsistic NATION<\/b> is King Cannibal<\/a>. King Cannibal\u2019s Let the Night Roar<\/i> is definitely in the dubstep vein but it\u2019s far more darker and heavier than most of the dubstep you\u2019ve heard. Oh, King Cannibal will appear on solipsistic NATION<\/b> in the next month or two with one of his live sets<\/a>.<\/p>\n I followed King Cannibal with Somatic Responses<\/a> who are just as menacing as King Cannibal. It was a no brainer to include them on this week\u2019s show. Somatic Responses\u2019 \u201cMurder Thought\u201d comes from their fantastic Reformation<\/i> album.<\/p>\n Jega<\/a>, Access To Arasaka<\/a> and Pandora\u2019s Black Book<\/a> also return to solipsistic NATION<\/b> but Black Mold<\/a> and Datach\u2019i<\/a> are new to the show.<\/p>\n Datach\u2019i is an example of what I was talking about earlier. I meant to play Datach\u2019i when I showcased<\/a> Planet Mu Records<\/a> on solipsistic NATION<\/b> but I couldn\u2019t work him into the mix due to time constraints so I\u2019ve very pleased to finally play Datach\u2019i on today\u2019s show.<\/p>\n The final newcomer to solipsistic NATION<\/b> is Black Mold<\/a> with the track \u201cSmoking Rat Shit\u201d from the Snow Blindness is Crystal Antz<\/i>. I confess I know little about Black Mold but they\u2019re on my radar.<\/p>\n That\u2019s the show.
