Today\u2019s show is a mix that would ideally be played on a sexy and sultry summer night with the object of your desire on one hand and a mojito in the other. With any luck you\u2019re doing just that even while today\u2019s show plays.<\/p>\n
One group I\u2019m excited to play on this week\u2019s solipsistic NATION<\/b> is Sidestepper<\/a>. Sidestepper is a Colombian band with English DJ\/producer Richard Blair and Colombian producer\/songwriter Ivan Benavides at the core. Sidestepper combines popular Afro-Colombian music styles like salsa and cumbia with electronica.<\/p>\n Another gem is Quantic Soul Orchestra<\/a>\u2018s \u201cTropidelico.\u201d Will Holland<\/a> (AKA Quantic), a DJ and musician, is the man behind the Quantic Soul Orchestra, which is a live band project with a changing lineup from album to album. Will has explored different genres of music in the past but the direction he\u2019s taken his album, Tropidelico<\/i> , is very exciting.<\/p>\n We also have a track from Paul Malmstrom, the one-man band that is Monkeybacon<\/a>. Monkeybacon is a favorite here at solipsistic NATION<\/b> and you can download his music here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Another sonic treat comes from Novalima<\/a>, a musical collective by four Peruvian musicians several cities around the world: Lima, Barcelona, London and Hong Kong. \u201cMalato\u201d comes from their 2006 release, Afro<\/i>.<\/p>\n I\u2019m also excited to play a track from Ghostly International<\/a>\u2018s Bodycode<\/a>. I\u2019ve been sitting on Bodycode\u2019s album Bodycode<\/i>, for a couple of weeks, just waiting for the right show to play a track from the album. Today\u2019s show seemed like the perfect show to play \u201cArigato.\u201d<\/p>\n I\u2019ll play just about anything from Evan Bluetech<\/a> but I\u2019m particularly pleased that Evan has delivered a track that slots perfectly with today\u2019s show. You can download Evan\u2019s new EP, Call Of The Wild<\/i>, here<\/a>.<\/p>\n DJ Food<\/a> has resurfaced with a brand spanking new album called One Man\u2019s Weird Is Another Man\u2019s World<\/i> that I\u2019ve been grooving to for the last few week\u2019s. I present the track \u201cTricky Little Ears (The Cheech Wizard Pays Respect To All Living Creatures Who Inhabit Dark Places)\u201d to you as a gift.<\/p>\n Luxurious<\/a> is another favorite and I\u2019m pleased to play a track from their long awaited second album, Lost Vegas: Hip Hop Lounge Series Vol. 2<\/i>.<\/p>\n Lokua<\/a> makes another appearance on solipsistic NATION<\/b>, this time with \u201cBurning Money\u201d from Lokua\u2019s Trails<\/i> net album, which you can download here<\/a>.
