If this is your first time tuning into solipsistic NATION<\/b> you should know that the first Friday of each month I feature a recording of a live performance<\/a> from an electronic musician.<\/p>\n

Recent shows have included live sets from Amon Tobin<\/a>, Milieu<\/a> and Lokua<\/a>. This week\u2019s show features Rena Jones<\/a>\u2018 concert recorded at The Triple Door<\/a> for the Decibel Festival Fundraiser<\/a> in Seattle recorded on May 6, 2009. The show also included performances from Gala with Helios<\/a>, Lusine<\/a> and the Seattle Piano Collective.<\/p>\n

Rena is a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer who weaves traditional instruments such as the violin and cello with digital instruments. Rena has also provided background music for the award winning video games Dance Dance Revolution<\/a> and Karaoke Revolution<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rena Jones has also released tracks with such reputable international labels as Iboga Records<\/a>, Spun Records<\/a>, Aleph Zero Records<\/a> and Native State Records<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If memory serves, I first heard Rena Jones music on the new defunct Fake Science podcast<\/a>. I was immediately struck by Rena\u2019s beautiful music. Some how she was able to weave the feeling of stillness and movement together in a spell of the eternal now. Heady stuff! I was so enchanted that I had her come on the Just Chill<\/a> edition of solipsistic NATION<\/b> to talk about her album, Driftwood<\/a><\/i>. Rena has since launched her own label, Cartesian Binary Recordings<\/a>, and her first release on her label will be her album, Indra\u2019s Web<\/i>. I thought this would be the perfect time to have Rena back on solipsistic Nation<\/b> to talk about her new label and album!<\/p>\n
